Mozambique vs Uganda Prediction
Mozambique, coached by former Vitoria Setubal’s U23 coach Chiquinho Conde, sit below group leaders and heavy favourites for the group, Algeria, on goal difference, but they do now face a tough test against a stubborn Ugandan side in Egypt this week.
Mozambique performed well in their qualification campaign for the 2025 CAF Africa Cup of Nations with just one defeat in their six matches. They started their qualifying campaign with three victories in four matches in Group G, most recently defeating Guinea by a goal to nil last summer thanks to a 93rd minute winner scored by Sporting CP winger Geny Catamo.
They face a Uganda side that, with a very defensive but difficult to beat philosophy, have started with two victories and two defeats in their opening four matches of FIFA World Cup qualification. They have defeated both Botswana and Somalia by a goal to nil with those results sandwiched by 2-1 losses to Guinea and Algeria.
Uganda, on neutral territory, will be frustrating opposition to play against for Mozambique but with good form and better pedigree, siding with Mozambique is the way to go for this one.
