Moyuka Uchijima vs Ons Jabeur prediction

Moyuka Uchijima recovered from an awful start to beat Robin Montgomery and make it through to the second-round. The Japanese player struggled to find her rhythm early on but managed to improve her level as the match progressed and won 1-6 6-4 6-3. 

Ons Jabeur is featuring in her first match on tour since a calf issue curtailed her Miami Open a month ago. She was forced to retire early on against Jasmine Paolini and the injuries must be a real cause of concern for the Tunisian, who had to end her 2024 season early due to a shoulder problem. There have been no real highlights so far this season, with her best finishes being a pair of quarter-final appearances during the early part of February.

Uchijima could be a tricky opponent for Jabeur with her ability to endure long rallies and battle away. The Tunisian did easily win their only previous meeting, a straight-sets victory at Wimbledon, but they’ve never faced each other on clay before. 

This could be a really close match and a three-set match is a very likely option.
