Monza Preview: Bocchetti already under pressure

At the turn of the year, Monza took the decision to sack Alessandro Nesta and replace him with Salvatore Bocchetti but things haven’t remotely improved as the hosts begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting ten points adrift of 17th placed, Parma.

The home team come into this one on the back of a thrilling 3-2 loss to Internazionale at San Siro last weekend in a game in which they did manage to take a 2-0 lead but they have now collected just one point from their last eight matches in Serie A.

Parma Preview: Chivu’s start

Fabio Pecchia decided to stay loyal to Parma but he has since been sacked and replaced by former player Cristian Chivu, who took charge a few weeks ago and began with a 2-0 defeat of Bologna before then losing 1-0 to Udinese in Friuli a couple of weeks ago.

Their most recent outing saw them share a 2-2 draw with Torino at the Ennio Tardini last weekend in a game in which Eljif Elmas gave Torino the lead and Che Adams re-established that lead with young centre-back Mateo Pellegrino scoring a brace.

Monza vs Parma Prediction

Monza have endured a miserable campaign with the Berlusconi family-owned club looking destined for a return to the second-tier. Parma, on the other hand, have shown some potential in the two home games that they have played since the appointment of former Inter and Romania international defender Chivu. Parma haven’t been convincing on the road throughout the campaign but, with their general overall improvement, they are the firm favourites for this one.
