Monaco have competed well against the champions in recent seasons but they'll find it tough here given the respective form of both teams.

Monaco Preview: Patchy form

This doesn't appear to be the right moment for Monaco to be facing the Ligue 1 leaders as they have won just one of their last five games in all competitions and were most recently held to a frustrating goalless draw at Reims on Saturday.

Monaco have had some joy against Paris Saint-Germain in recent seasons though, losing just one of the last five meetings between the pair, and they know that they really need to be winning this fixture if they harbour any hope of catching the champions in the table.

Paris Saint-Germain Preview: Supreme domestically

By contrast, the hosts are yet to lose in Ligue 1 this season having won 11 and drawn four of their 15 league games, with all three of their defeats in all competitions having come in the Champions League.

Luis Enrique's side most recently saw off Lyon 3-1 on Sunday with striker Goncalo Ramos, who has suffered an injury-plagued campaign up until now, scoring for the second game in succession.

Monaco Team News: Vanderson returns from ban

Jordan Teze is suspended after picking up one too many bookings, but Vanderson makes a timely return from his own ban and should slot in at right-back.

An adductor injury kept goalkeeper Radoslaw Majecki out of the draw with Reims and, given the short turnaround, Philipp Kohn could be asked to deputise between the sticks again.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Kohn; Vanderson, Singo, Kehrer, Caio Henrique; Camara, Magassa; Akliouche, Golovin, Ben Seghir; Embolo

Unavailable: Teze (Suspended), Coulibaly (Injured), Diatta (Injured)

Questionable: Majecki (Injured), Zakaria (Injured), Diop (Injured), Balogun (Injured)

Paris Saint-Germain Team News: Near full-strength

After Lucas Hernandez made his return from injury over the weekend, the Paris squad is in rude health with only Presnel Kimpembe, who hasn't played a competitive fixture since February 2023, seemingly unavailable.

Club captain Marquinhos was benched against Lyon but will likely return to the starting line-up here, while youngster Desire Doue could be handed another start after a highly impressive performance over the weekend.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Donnarumma; Hakimi, Marquinhos, Pacho, Mendes; Zaire-Emery, Vitinha, Fabian Ruiz; Lee, Ramos, Doue

Unavailable:

Questionable: Kimpembe (Injured)

Monaco vs Paris Saint-Germain Prediction

As previously stated, Monaco have enjoyed some success in this fixture over recent seasons but the current trajectories of both clubs indicates that they may struggle to contain the league-leaders here, who are starting to see some of their young talents flourish.

The visitors, as usual, have been the dominant force in Ligue 1 and they can extend their lead over Monaco with a statement win at Stade Louis II.
