Moldova vs Norway Prediction

Moldova narrowly missed out on a remarkable qualification for UEFA EURO 2024 and then backed that impressive campaign up with automatic promotion from League D of the 2024/25 UEFA Nations League as they take on a Norway side under permanent pressure at the moment.

The Moldovans overcame the likes of Malta and Andorra in League D in a group that was far stronger than the other group in the fourth-tier that was made up of Gibraltar, Liechtenstein and San Marino. Moldova’s UEFA EURO 2024 qualifying campaign saw them legitimately compete with the likes of Albania, Poland and Czechia.

They now face a Norway side that, coached by former Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Stale Solbakken, did earn themselves automatic promotion to League A of the UEFA Nations League in the autumn, despite a 5-1 loss to Austria in that campaign. They are under pressure to get the likes of Martin Odegaard and Erling Braut Haaland to a FIFA World Cup.

Norway are favourites but they can be haphazard and Moldova have been much-improved so it could well end up being quite an entertaining encounter for the neutral in Chisinau.
