SEAN SHARAF: THE SMOKE STEPS IN ON A COUPLE OF DAYS NOTICE FOR DEBUT
Sean Sharaf has earned his chance after four first-round knockouts in his only four professional MMA fights and he comes into UFC Fight Night 244 with less than week’s notice. The 31-year-old has been fighting at regional levels and has been selected purely for this fight with a similar style opponent. Sharaf has a punchers’ chance and there will be no disguising or surprise as to how he will approach this fight.
JUNIOR TAFA: KIWI KEEN TO SNAP TWO-FIGHT SKID
Junior Tafa has lost his last two fights taking his record to 5-3 and he will be keen to bounce back and snap that here. His last loss came at UFC 305 just eight weeks ago in Perth as Valter Walker submitted him with a heel hook. He is desperate to stay active and get back to winning ways as quickly as possible.
SEAN SHARAF VS JUNIOR TAFA PREDICTION
This fight has been scheduled by the matchmakers to provide some fireworks on the prelims card and that is surely what it will do. Both fighters will look to stand and strike which will certainly benefit both as they are not built for the ground game.
Tafa will likely benefit the most knowing that Sharaf will stand and he can rely on his superior striking. Of course, in the heavyweight division, if anybody connects flush, it is lights out and Sharaf clearly possesses big power. We think Tafa is the classier and superior striker of the two however and he should get the KO win.
PREDICTION: JUNIOR TAFA TO WIN BY KO/TKO
