ROB FONT: 37-YEAR-OLD FONT DESPERATELY NEEDS WIN TO STAY RELEVANT

Rob Font (20-8) is in desperate need of a win here after losing four of his last five fights. Those have all been against high calibre opponents and all four came via the judges’ scorecards but he will still be desperate to prove he is still relevant in the bantamweight division. His one win came against Adrian Yanez who he TKO’d in the Performance of the Night display but his time at the elite level at 37-years-old is seemingly over now.

KYLER PHILLIPS: SURGING PHILLIPS ON THREE-FIGHT WIN STREAK

29-year-old Kyler Phillips (12-2) is surging in the bantamweight division having won his last three fights. He comes off a unanimous decision win over Pedro Munhoz in March and that win will have given him a major boost in belief that he can compete in the upper echelon of the UFC’s bantamweight division. Since joining the UFC om 2020, Phillips has won six of his seven bouts and he is developing as a fighter with every bout.

ROB FONT VS KYLER PHILLIPS PREDICTION

This is a fascinating match-up between two fighters at the opposite end of their respective peaks. Font looks to be on the way down after fighting at the top level for the last few years but just falling short. Phillips is surging and is pushing to compete in some of those big fights but this is a perfect test of his credentials.

Phillips is going places and looks capable of making another jump here. It is always hard to go against Font and his fights are always a pleasure to watch. We just feel like his punch resistance is fading and that edge that made him so good is lacking.

We favour Phillips to showcase his skills and show that he is a candidate to push on in the bantamweight division. Points are the most likely route to victory but we would not rule out him stopping Font.

PREDICTION: KYLER PHILLIPS TO WIN BY KO/TKO OR DECISION
