WALDO CORTES-ACOSTA VS LUKASZ BRZESKI LOWDOWN
Waldo Cortes-Acosta (9-1) heads to Singapore hoping to bounce back from his first loss. He made his UFC entrance after knocking out Danilo Suzart (2022) on the Contender Series. The UFC gave him a soft welcome in the form of Jared Vanderaa (2022) and Chase Sherman (2022) who he eased past in unanimous decisions. He then met Marcos Rogerio de Lima back in April who filled in his loss column with a unanimous decision.
Lukasz Brzeski’s (8-3-1(1)) UFC debut was slightly more eventful putting on a war with Martin Buday (2022). It could have gone either way, but he fell on the wrong side of a split decision. He then met Karl Williams who subdued him with his wrestling earning a comfortable unanimous decision. Now, he is desperate to earn his first UFC dub.
WALDO CORTES-ACOSTA VS LUKASZ BRZESKI PREDICTION
Brzeski got manhandled in his last fight and is the heavy underdog. He is a solid striker and as he will not have to worry about getting taken down, he is instantly a value pick.
Cortes-Acosta has the same frame as Brzeski, but he will be about 20-30 pounds heavier on the night and is more explosive. We understand why he is the favourite, but if he has not learnt how to check leg kicks, Brzeski will chop him down as de Lima did.
Cortes-Acosta is incredibly tough and is the more dangerous striker, so we are backing him to edge a close fight, but Brzeski holds all of the value.
