VITOR PETRINO VS MODESTAS BUKAUSKAS LOWDOWN
It seems it will be a matter of time until Vitor Petrino’s (9-0) record will take a hit as the level of competition continues to rise. He sparked out Rodolfo Bellato (2022) on the Contender Series to earn his spot on the roster and opened his account up with a unanimous decision over Anton Turkalj (2023). He then got back to finishing ways by submitting Marcin Prachnio four months later at UFC 290 but has a tougher match-up here.
Modestas Bukauskas (15-5) has taken his second opportunity with both hands. He got dealt a tough hand during his first stint in the UFC with some very difficult fights. He lost all three getting knocked out by Jimmy Crute (2020) and Khalil Rountree (2021) after dropping a split decision to Michal Oleksiejczuk (2021). However, this year he stepped up to fight Tyson Pedro on short notice and then Zac Pauga four months later winning both by unanimous decision.
VITOR PETRINO VS MODESTAS BUKAUSKAS PREDICTION
Petrino is an explosive beast who throws bombs and can wrestle. He is reckless and leaves openings which Bukauskas will try and exploit. He will look to patiently counter and time his own takedowns to switch the momentum and drain the gas tank.
Petrino is the more dangerous striker and grappler. We understand why he is the favourite and we can see him blowing Bukauskas out early. That said, this is his toughest test and if this goes past the first round, he will begin to fade.
Bukauskas holds all of the value if this lasts more than five minutes, but we are leaning towards Petrino in front of his home fans.
Prediction: Petrino via KO/TKO
Value bet: Bukauskas to win
