VITOR PETRINO VS ANTON TURKLJ LOWDOWN
Vitor Petrino (7-0) makes his UFC debut coming off five swashbuckling knockouts. They were for an array on promotions but after he buried UFC alum Gadzhimurad Antigulov (2021), he was granted a shot on the Contender Series. He sealed the UFC contract with a second-round knockout over Rodolfo Bellato back in September.
Anton Turklj (8-1) returns for a fairer crack of the whip. He also impressed on the Contender Series last year earning a unanimous decision over Acacio dos Santos. However, his debut was a baptism of fire stepping up on short notice to take on Jailton Almeida up at 220 lbs. That was also back in September and unfortunately for him it was inevitable first-round submission.
VITOR PETRINO VS ANTON TURKLJ PREDICTION
It will be interesting to see Turklj in his weight class of light heavyweight although this is another tough match up for him.
Petrino has not fought anyone of note, but his power is undeniable, and he proved himself in his fight with Antigulov. Turklj will be confident in exchanging on the feet although, his wrestling is better and we expect to see it in his strategy to avoid the hands of the Brazilian.
The Swede has more strings to his bow, but that will not matter if he gets clipped with one of Petrino’s missiles. This is very tough to call and we feel the keys are Petrino’s knockout power and Turklj’s wrestling.
So, a Petrino knockout or a Turklj decision are your best bets and we are leaning towards the Brazilian.
