VIACHESLAV BORSHCHEV VS JAMES LLONTOP LOWDOWN

After blasting his way into the UFC via Dana White’s Contender Series, Viacheslav Borshchev has found life hard in the Octagon. After winning on his debut, he has only won one of his last five fights and the 32-year-old is desperate to get back in the win column.

He meets Peruvian fighter James ‘Goku’ Llontop who is a graduate from the Contender Series also. He has had one fight in the Octagon since then and that was a submission loss to Chris Padilla so he is looking for his first victory in the UFC. Prior to that loss, Llontop was riding a 12-fight win streak albeit it in smaller organisations.

VIACHESLAV BORSHCHEV VS JAMES LLONTOP PREDICTION

Viacheslav Borshchev is looking to be somewhat limited as he steps up in quality in the UFC and while he clearly possesses power, his opponents are finding ways to counter that. There is no questioning his chin, but opponents are able to exploit his workrate and that will surely be one route Llontop – seven years his junior – will look to here.

Llontop has punching power of his own with seven KO/TKOs but he has won six on the scorecards in his 14 wins. We think the Peruvian should have too much speed for Borshchev to land his power punches, and he should be able to outwork the veteran too to win on the judges’ scorecards.

PREDICTION: James Llontop to win via decision
