THE LOWDOWN
This bout was initially scheduled for March but with that event cancelled due to the pandemic, it was rescheduled for Fight Island and finally get a chance to lock horns. English heavyweight Tom Aspinall has had to wait some time but he finally makes his debut in the Octagon here. The heavy-hitter brings a record of 7-2 into the UFC and he made it to the big time thanks to his knockout power with all of his wins coming in the first round with five knockouts and two submissions.
Jake Collier comes into this bout looking to win back-to-back fights for the first time since 2013/14 as he comes off a unanimous decision win over Marcel Fortuna in November last year. The heavyweight has a 11-4 record coming into this fight but he desperately needs to string together a run of victories if he is to move up the rankings.
THE PREDICTION
This heavyweight promises to be one of the more entertaining bouts on the undercard with English slugger Tom Aspinall facing off against the well-rounded American Jake Collier. Aspinall is somewhat raw in comparison to his American counterpart but he has the explosive punching power that can win him the fight at any moment. Collier is however the more experienced of the duo and his cardio is certainly more proven than the Brit so look for him to take this fight deep. That said, it is hard to see this going the distance. Collier is the more well-rounded fighter and he is preferred but do not discount Aspinall from causing the upset with his impressive punching power.
