THEMBA GORIMBO VS RAMIZ BRAHIMAJ LOWDOWN

Themba Gorimbo (12-4) has regained some momentum after a humbling UFC debut. He met AJ Fletcher (2023) at UFC Fight Night 219 and got submitted in the second round. He returned three months later to fight Takashi Sato (2023) and earnt a unanimous decision. He was then gifted another kinder match-up in the form of Pete Rodriguez (2024) and reeled off a first-round knockout.

We have not seen Ramiz Brahimaj (10-4) since the start of 2022. He lost a unanimous decision to Court McGee which is ageing badly. He then stepped in for Jonny Parsons only a month later thinking he could bag an easy win. He was right, submitting Micheal Gilmore in the first round to send him packing out of the UFC.

THEMBA GORIMBO VS RAMIZ BRAHIMAJ PREDICTION

Neither fighter have any impressive wins on their record, so it is difficult to know how high their ceilings are. That said, Gorimbo has more potential and continues to improve whereas Brahimaj has not fought in over two years.

That said, he is a very good grappler with exceptional jiu-jitsu and will be a threat whenever they hit the deck. Gorimbo is a powerful wrestler and this should be enough to avoid any real danger and even secure a takedown of his own. This should force the majority of the fight on the feet where he can showcase his improved striking.

We expect this to be competitive, but Gorimbo’s takedown defence and explosiveness on the feet make him the favourite. If Brahimaj becomes a bigger underdog, he is worth a punt for a submission, but Gorimbo should take this.

Prediction: Gorimbo via Decision

Value Bet: Brahimaj via Submission
