STEWART NICOLL VS JESUS SANTOS AGUILAR LOWDOWN
Australia’s Stewart Nicoll will look to get this card off to a great start in front of his home fans as he puts his 100% record on the line at UFC 305. The 29-year-old is making his debut in the Octagon and will be desperately hoping to build on his 8-0 record.
He faces Mexico’s Jesus Santos Aguilar in the flyweight division and he brings a 10-2 record into this fight. The 28-year-old came through Dana White’s Contender Series and has had three fights in the UFC since then, winning two and losing one.
STEWART NICOLL VS JESUS SANTOS AGUILAR PREDICTION
Nicoll will be fired up for this bout and he will really need to channel his energy in the right way where possible. Emotions will be running high and this is easily the biggest fight of his career so far.
His confidence is high coming into this one as he has won his last four fights by KO/TKO and he will look to keep this fight standing.
Jesus Santos Aguilar will be keen to get the fight to the floor as he is a submission specialist. Six of the Mexican’s 10 wins have come via submission although his last two wins came via decision and a knockout.
Nicoll will not hang around in this one and his energy, combined with that of the crowd, will likely lead to a lively fight. For that reason, combined with the two styles, makes us think this fight is not going the distance. Marginal preference for Nicoll but the fight not going the distance is the play here.
PREDICTION: Fight will not go the distance
