RODOLFO VIEIRA VS ARMEN PETROSYAN LOWDOWN
Rodolfo Vieira’s (9-2) attitude of tap out or gas out is very exciting, but unfortunately for him, he is the one gassing out. The Brazilian jiu-jitsu champion unsurprisingly kicked off his UFC career with two submissions, but completely faded against Anthony Hernandez (2021) who cinched up his own submission. He bounced back from that embarrassment by submitting Dustin Stolzfus (2021) but then was unable to take Chris Curtis (2022) down and lost a unanimous decision. However, he got back in the win column this year with a vintage sub over Cody Brundage.
Armen Petrosyan (9-2) has also transitioned to MMA very well getting tested by top competition. He made his UFC debut against Gregory Rodrigues (2022) and caused the upset winning a split decision. He then got out grappled by Caio Borralho (2022) but responded with two unanimous decisions of his own over AJ Dobson (2022) and Christian Leroy Duncan.

Virtually all Vieira’s fights will hinge on whether he can land the takedown. If he can not get the fight to the ground, he will not have an answer on the feet and Petrosyan has good takedown defence.
Vieira will try and close the distance as soon as possible. Petrosyan is an exceptional kickboxer and if he has any room, he will pick the Brazilian apart from range. He will know he has to defend a few takedowns before landing any damage and he will hope Vieira fades quickly.
However, Vieira’s cardio has greatly improved and he will keep shooting in for 15 minutes if he needs to. This is a tough one to call and we should learn everything in the first couple minutes. We are leaning towards the Brazilian.
