RINAT FAKHRETDINOV VS BRYAN BATTLE LOWDOWN
Fighting out of Moscow, Russia, Rinat Fakhretdinov (20-2) will be making his second walk to the UFC octagon this weekend. After impressing on the regional scene, Fakhretdinov earned himself a chance to fight in the UFC. The Russian would go on to defeat Andreas Michailidis in his promotional debut.
As for Fakhretdinov’s opponent this weekend, Bryan Battle (8-1) has not lost since his second professional fight and will be full of confidence going into this weekend’s showdown with Fakhretdinov. Battle has won his first three fights inside the UFC octagon and is coming off of a KO victory over Takashi Sato back in August.
RINAT FAKHRETDINOV VS BRYAN BATTLE PREDICTION
Heading into this weekend’s welterweight bout, Battle will have the advantage in both the height and reach departments.
This fight shows just how much Battle is ready to prove his worth and climb up the rankings. Originally, Fakhretdinov was supposed to fight Michael Morales, but Morales was forced to pull out due to an injury. Fakhretdinov is an odd fighter to watch. Whilst he possesses some power in his hands, his performances can be fairly dull and unconvincing. On the feet, Battle’s high-volume striking will be able to cause Fakhretdinov some trouble. However, Fakhretdinov is a solid wrestler and could control the fight. We suspect that Battle will look to control the fight from the off on the feet. Should Fakhretdinov take the fight to the floor, he will struggle to maintain top position.
