PAYTON TALBOTT VS CAMERON SAAIMAN LOWDOWN
Payton Talbott (7-0) heads back to the Apex after his successful UFC debut. He earnt the opportunity after outpointing Reyes Cortez Jr (2023) on the Contender Series and was matched with Nick Aguirre at UFC Fight Night 232. It was a great fight sealing the deal in the third round with a submission to extend his unbeaten record.
Cameron Saaiman (9-1) also heads back to the Apex but has redemption on his mind after suffering the first loss of his career. He had won his first three UFC fights by knocking out Steven Koslow (2022) and then Terrence Mitchell (2023) after outpointing Mana Martinez (2023). He then ran into the prospect killer Christian Rodriguez losing a unanimous decision.
PAYTON TALBOTT VS CAMERON SAAIMAN PREDICTION
Talbott is gaining some hype with his exciting style. He is very aggressive and walks his opponents down until they wilt. Saaiman is also very exciting but is more polished so it will be very interesting to see how he handles Talbott’s volume.
The obvious solution is his wrestling which can halt the flow of Talbott. He is a better grappler and if he fights smart, he should try and get to the fight to the ground at any opportunity.
Saaiman is also a flashy striker and very confident which may work against him. If he decides to stand and trade with Talbott, he could easily get overwhelmed.
We expect this to be a very close battle that will go down to the wire. For that reason, the underdog is the smart pick, but we are leaning towards Talbott with his output swaying the judges.
