NORMA DUMONT VS CHELSEA CHANDLER LOWDOWN
Norma Dumont (9-2) is 5-2 in the UFC going under the radar mainly due to the fact her division barely exists. She is running out of opponents in the featherweight division and there are serious doubts about its future now the former champion Amanda Nunes has retired. Nonetheless, she has recovered from her split decision loss to Macy Chiasson (2022) with two unanimous decision wins over Danyelle Wolf (2022) and Karol Rosa (2023).
Chelsea Chandler (5-1) makes her second appearance in the UFC. She arrived off the back of four wins under the Invicta banner. She outpointed Mitzi Merry (2018) before TKOing Brittney Victoria (2019) and submitting Olivia Parker (2020). She then outpointed Courtney King (2022) which lead to her successful UFC debut TKOing Julija Stoliarenko back in October last year.
NORMA DUMONT VS CHELSEA CHANDLER PREDICTION
Dumont is strong, can strike and is a national sanda champion. She has also amassed some quality experience already so presents a real test for Chandler. The newcomer has looked great so far in her young career however, she is unproven at this level.
She is a very strong athlete with quality grappling. Her striking continues to evolve and throws bombs from her southpaw stance. The grappling exchanges will be very interesting. Dumont will look good in the clinch, but Chandler will be aggressive if they end up on the deck.
We are backing the experience of Dumont to scrape a decision, but the value is with Chandler as the underdog.
