NICOLAS DALBY VS MUSLIM SALIKHOV LOWDOWN

Nicolas Dalby (21-4-1(2)) makes his second appearance of the year after earning a split decision over fellow veteran Warlley Alves in January. It is good to see as he has only fought three times in two years which were a decision loss to Tim Means (2021) and a decision win over Claudio Silva (2022).

Muslim Salikhov (19-3) has also only fought three times in the last two years. He outpointed Francisco Trinaldo (2021) to extend his streak to five, but then went on to get knocked out by Li Jingliang (2022). However, he responded perfectly four months later erasing Andre Fialho with a spinning wheel kick.

NICOLAS DALBY VS MUSLIM SALIKHOV PREDICTION

Both fighters are strikers by trade with decent grappling. Dalby hails from a karate background whereas Salikhov is a Master of Combat in Wushu Sanda but if this was a striking contest, we would back the Russian all day.

However, this is MMA and Dalby is very well-rounded and is expected to incorporate some wrestling along with a relentless pressure. Dalby has the advantage when it comes to cardio and volume, but in terms of skill and technical ability, Salikhov has the edge everywhere.

This promises to be very competitive wherever the fight goes. We are backing Salikhov to edge the striking exchanges, stuff most of Dalby’s takedowns and even land a couple of his own to convince the judges.
