NEIL MAGNY VS MICHAEL MORALES LOWDOWN
Neil Magny (29-11) returns to action in the UFC’s welterweight division and he is coming off a TKO win over Mike Malott at UFC 297 in January. The 37-year-old continues to be an incredibly tough competitor for anybody to face and that is likely the reason why the UFC matchmakers have picked him to face one of their hottest prospects.
Michael Morales has a 100% record in his 16 professional MMA bouts and he is clearly being built up by the UFC as one of their golden boys in a key market. The South American fighter is just 25-years-old and has shown no signs of slowing down since joining the UFC. They have tested him against some experienced opponents, and they do so once again versus an impressive technician like Magny.

This is a really interesting bout and it will be interesting to see if the experience of Neil Magny can somehow slow Michael Morales down. The veteran will be eager to try and take Morales as he will not want to have anything to do with striking against the powerful Morales.
It is hard to see Magny being able to do it overly often however. Plenty have tried that against Morales – albeit most without the experience and skillset of Magny – but the ferocity that Morales possesses brings risks to the takedown attempts.
Morales will not be outworked by Magny and he will comfortably go the distance if required. But he will be looking to take Magny’s head off at any opportunity. Very few folk have succeeded in knocking Magny out however and we can see the veteran taking this to the scorecards but ultimately being too negative to have any chance of getting the decision. Morales should continue his unbeaten run.
