NASRAT HAQPARAST VS LANDON QUINONES LOWDOWN
Nasrat Haqparast’s (14-5) date in the octagon has pushed back a week and now has a new opponent. He was scheduled to fight Sam Patterson last week at UFC Fight Night 226, but the Brit had to pull out. He is grateful his training camp has not gone to waste again as he is desperate to build some momentum back after losing two unanimous decisions on the bounce to Dan Hooker (2021) and Bobby Green (2022). He returned a year ago at UFC Fight Night 209 in Paris and got back into the win column with a unanimous decision of his own over John Makdessi.
Landon Quinones (7-1-1) has been gifted another chance in the UFC as he fills in for Patterson. He featured on The Ultimate Fighter 31 as a prospect on Team Conor McGregor. He met veteran Jason Knight and got submitted in the first round. His potential and form of two knockouts last year leading up to the series has impressed the UFC brass enough to earn another shot.
NASRAT HAQPARAST VS LANDON QUINONES PREDICTION
This should be an entertaining fight for as long as it lasts. They are both aggressive strikers who hit hard with high volume. Quinones will have the confidence of trading on the feet, but he needs to call upon his grappling to have any chance.
It should only be a matter of time before he realizes that, but we expect his inexperience will lead him into fire. Haqparast is an excellent striker who has the range, power and IQ to avoid any trouble and set up traps for his power shots.
Quinones can drag this out if he brings his wrestling shoes, but Haqparast’s takedown defence should allow him to keep the fight where he wants it and we are backing him to land a late knockout.
Prediction: Haqparast via KO/TKO
