MUHAMMAD MOKAEV VS MANEL KAPE LOWDOWN
Muhammad Mokaev (12-0(1)) makes his first UFC appearance on his home turf of Manchester. He has racked up six UFC bouts since his debut in 2022. He fought three times that year collecting the scalps of Cody Durden, Charles Johnson and Malcolm Gordon. Last year, he added the fifth and sixth submissions of his career tapping out Jafel Filho and Tim Elliott. Now, he is coming off a unanimous decision over former title challenger Alex Perez to extend his unbeaten record.
Manel Kape (19-6) did not start his UFC career as successfully receiving some tough matchups. He lost decisions to the current champion Alexandre Pantoja (2021) and Matheus Nicolau (2021). However, he has responded perfectly by knocking out Ode Osbourne (2021) and Zhalgas Zhumagulov (2021) before earning unanimous decisions over David Dvorak (2022) and Felipe dos Santos (2023) boasting his UFC tally to 4-2.

If the hometown boy needs anymore motivation, he knows he can follow Steve Erceg and jump straight to the top of the short line of title contenders. However, this will be his toughest test yet.
Kape is one of the most dangerous strikers in the division, has excellent takedown defence and is full to the brim of confidence. If Mokaev cannot take him down, it is going to be a long night for the Manchurian.
We can fully expect Mokaev to try and get the fight to the ground as soon as possible. His wrestling is top tier, but he needs to be patient. Kape will be a knockout threat whenever he is in range and he will have that knee ready to fire when Mokaev shoots in.
Mokaev can be reckless and Kape is not the fighter you want to take any risks against. Kape holds the value, but if Mokaev is patient and sets up his takedowns, he has the technique and pressure to subdue him for long enough to convince the judges.
