MICHEL PEREIRA VS IHOR POTIERIA LOWDOWN
Since his embarrassing losses to Tristan Connelly (2019) and Diego Sanchez (2020), Michal Pereira (30-11(2)) has gone on an absolute tear. He collected the scalps of Zelim Imadaev (2020), Khaos Williams (2020), Niko Price (2021), Andre Fialho (2022) and Santiago Ponzinibbio (2022). He then moved up to middleweight and has never looked better knocking out Andre Petroski (2023) and submitting Michal Oleksiejczuk (2024).
Ihor Potieria (20-5) extended his UFC shelf-life back in February. After getting knocked out by Carlos Ulberg (2023) and Rodolfo Bellato (2023), all the pressure was on him when he welcomed Robert Bryczek (2024). However, he pulled off the upset with a unanimous decision win which has given him the confidence to fill in for Makhmud Muradov on short notice.
MICHEL PEREIRA VS IHOR POTIERIA PREDICTION
Potieria deserves a lot of credit for stepping up to take this fight, but he is throwing himself into fire for no reason. He already had a fight scheduled for June and has decided to take on a monster in red hot form.
The key to Pereira’s success is patching up his cardio. He has all the tools and combines his ferocious striking and grappling with his athleticism to completely overwhelm opponents.
Potieria is dangerous on the feet with quality hands. However, Periera’s dynamism will help him to keep out of danger and jump into range with devastating attacks with all eight limbs.
Potiera is one of the largest opponents he will have faced coming down from light heavyweight. However, we feel the Brazilian’s explosiveness and speed will create a finish whether that be on the feet or on the ground.
Prediction: Pereira via KO/TKO
