MARTIN BUDAY VS JAKE COLLIER LOWDOWN

After tearing up the European scene, Martin Buday (11-1) was granted an audition on the Contender Series. He was paired with Lorenzo Hood (2021) and passed with flying colours thanks to a savage knee in the first round. He then took on Chris Barnett (2022) for his UFC debut and followed that up with an exciting split decision win over Lukasz Brzeski (2022) extending his streak to 10.

He now takes on the veteran Jake Collier (13-8). Since his return and entrance to the heavyweight division, he has gone 2-4. His last win earnt him a ‘Performance of the Night’ bonus submitting Chase Sherman (2022) but he is now coming off two losses - a split decision to Andrei Arlovski (2022) and a TKO to Barnett (2022).

MARTIN BUDAY VS JAKE COLLIER PREDICTION

Collier is a skilful and well-rounded fighter, however his only wins since 2017 are over Gian Villante and Sherman which means very little. Buday has looked good, but he does not have the experience Collier has.

On paper, they size up relatively evenly however, Buday is naturally the much larger man. Collier is a former middleweight and will have the speed advantage whereas Buday will have the power advantage.

He will wait for Collier to step into range and throw heavy hands and knees down the middle. Collier will try and outwork Buday and has the technique to win the exchanges.

This is tough to call, but we are leaning towards Buday with his striking from range and clinch work swaying the judges.
