MARCUS MCGHEE VS GASTON BOLANOS LOWDOWN
Marcus McGhee (8-1) is not looking back after snatching the opportunity to make his UFC debut last year. He stepped in to replace Brian Kelleher to take on Journey Newson (2023) and submitted him in the second round. He then took on JP Buys four months later and erased him in the first round to extend his win streak to four including three knockouts.
Gaston Bolanos (7-3) also made his UFC debut last year and got his account up and running. The Muay Thai specialist made his name under the Bellator banner and was coming off a first-round TKO over Daniel Carey (2022). He was welcomed to the octagon by Aaron Phillips and earnt a unanimous decision.
MARCUS MCGHEE VS GASTON BOLANOS PREDICTION
On paper, this looks like it will be an explosive striking battle. However, McGhee has some solid wrestling in the locker which could make the difference.
Bolanos will go about business as usual and look to attack the legs, mid-section and dome with his array of kicks. If McGhee obliges, we should see some intense exchanges and he has the ability to go toe-to-toe with the striker.
That said, we expect McGhee to call upon his wrestling to take the fight away from Bolanos and earn a decision at least.
