LUDOVIT KLEIN VS AJ CUNNINGHAM LOWDOWN
Ludovit Klein (20-4-1) was preparing for Joel Alvarez who unfortunately had to pull out. Thankfully, he is still on the card and gets the opportunity to build on his four-fight unbeaten streak. He earnt decisions over Devonte Smith (2022) and Mason Jones (2022) before fighting to a draw with Jai Herbert (2023). He is now coming off a huge win and another unanimous decision over Ignacio Bahamondes (2023) back in August to go 4-2-1 in the UFC.
AJ Cunningham (11-3) steps up to the plate to make his UFC debut. He has fought for a variety of promotions and laced up the gloves three times last year with mixed fortunes. He submitted Jason Mullen for Fury FC which led to an audition on the Contender Series. He fluffed his lines and got knocked out by Steven Nguyen in the second round. However, he wasted no time in getting back on track by knocking out Justice Lamperez for the Real deal Championships in Arkansas.
LUDOVIT KLEIN VS AJ CUNNINGHAM PREDICTION
Cunningham is inevitably the heavy underdog, but as he is stepping up on short notice, all the pressure is on the experienced Klein. However, this will not be straightforward as Cunningham is a very durable and dangerous fighter.
Klein is a high-level striker with excellent technique. He has an array of weapons on the feet and can also grapple. Cunningham is also a diverse striker with wrestling in the locker which should create an exciting scrap.
The majority of this should play out on the feet. Cunningham is three inches taller but will be giving up an inch in reach. He is extremely tough, but his defence is the worry here. Klein’s technique should enable him to find a home for his hands and feet.
Cunningham is dangerous, but on paper Klein should take this all day especially with a full camp behind him.
Prediction: Klein via KO/TKO
