LI JINGLIANG VS DANIEL RODRIGUEZ LOWDOWN

Daniel Rodriguez (16-2) comes into this hastily rearranged fight against Li Jingliang (19-7) having seen his clash with Kevin Holland fall through. This bout and opponent may actually suit Rodriguez better than the initial fight with Holland but it does represent another step up for him.

The catchweight of 180lbs will certainly favour D-Rod more than it will for The Leech, and he should see this change in opponent as a positive one overall.

LI JINGLIANG VS DANIEL RODRIGUEZ PREDICTION

Despite all the chaos caused by Khamzat Chimaev’s horrific weigh-in weight, the three rearranged fights, including this one between Li Jingliang and Daniel Rodriguez, may actually be better fights than initial planned.

This has all the hallmarks of a highly competitive fight and will be entertaining to watch. It may not have the fireworks of some of the other fights on the card, but it really is a 50/50 fight that could go either way.

D-Rod has a strong 16-2 record but the quality of his opponents have not always been the best which makes that record sound better than it actually is. He has not fought in over a year and he will have to overcome any rust against The Leech here.

Li Jingliang has had two fights in that time and he has good confidence at the moment as he comes off a TKO win over Muslim Salikhov. That earned him a Performance of the Night bonus – a fourth in his last six fights. He will certainly make it tough for D-Rod who is marginally favoured by the bookies, but the momentum is with The Leech and we marginally favour him to upset D-Rod
