JUSTIN TAFA VS AUSTEN LANE LOWDOWN

Take two Justin Tafa (6-3(1)) and Austen Lane who met back in June at UFC on ABC 5. The bout only lasted 29 seconds before he got a finger in the eye and was unable to continue. Tafa was building some serious momentum prior too. After losing three of his first four UFC bouts, he reeled off two vintage vintage knockouts over Harry Hunsucker (2021) and Parker Porter (2023) and would love nothing more than to continue that trend on home turf.

Nobody was more disappointed that Austen Lane (12-3(1)) after his eye poke. He was waiting for nine months to make that UFC debut after TKOing Richard Jacobi (2022) on the Contender Series. That stretched his streak to six and does not have any time to waste as he hopes to be a UFC success after his NFL career.

JUSTIN TAFA VS AUSTEN LANE PREDICTION

It is going to be satisfying to get some closure on this one and see if Lane has the pedigree to survive in the UFC. He is obviously an incredible athlete and will boast a significant six-inch height and reach advantage over Tafa.

However, Tafa is a seasoned kickboxer with ferocious knockout power so he will be playing with fire if he decides to stand and trade with him. Lane is a confident striker, but he needs to utilize his movement in defence and time his takedowns. He gets this done by keeping Tafa pinned to the ground for portions of the fight.

As there is minimal room for error, we are backing Tafa to land a clean bomb after defending the takedown. Lane’s speed and explosiveness can give the Aussie problems, but we are backing the home favourite to come out victorious in front of his fans.

Prediction: Tafa via KO/TKO

Value bet: Lane to win
