JOSH QUINLAN VS TREY WATERS LOWDOWN

Josh Quinlan (6-0(1)) finally returns after his flawless UFC debut back in August last year. He starched Jason Witt in the first round and although everyone and their dog has a knockout over Witt, he did exactly what he needed to do and extended his unbeaten record.

He was preparing for Ange Loosa who unfortunately had to pull out giving Trey Waters (7-1) the opportunity to make his UFC debut. He is fresh off winning the LFA welterweight title by knocking out Jalin Fuller only two weeks ago. That came in response to his first loss which was on the Contender Series getting submitted by Gabriel Bonfim (2022).

JOSH QUINLAN VS TREY WATERS PREDICTION

This should be another fun fight. They are both exciting strikers, but Quinlan is going to have to adapt. Walters stands at 6’5” which is huge for 170 lbs and will have five inches in height and reach.

They both pack a lot of power and whoever controls the distance, should be able to land the cleaner shots. Waters will have to maintain the distance with his jab and kicks as Quinlan is like a stick of dynamite in the pocket.

Expect Quinlan to chop Waters down with his leg kicks and he will not need to land many to disable the movement of Waters. We expect Quinlan to get the better of the exchanges and has the wrestling in the back pocket to convince the judges if it goes the distance.

The odds are stacked against Waters, but he is a good fighter and can easily cause the upset. However, two weight cuts in a short period of time is always a worry and we are backing Quinlan who can finish this in a variety of ways.
