JOSELYNE EDWARDS VS NORA CORNOLLE LOWDOWN

Joselyne Edwards (13-4) has found her feet in the UFC after a wild 2021. She made her debut against Yanan Wu picking up a unanimous decision. She returned to the cage just three weeks later to fight Karol Rosa falling on the wrong side of a unanimous decision this time. Jessica Rose-Clark then made is two losses in a row with another decision. However, Edwards is back on track with three decision wins on the bounce over Ramona Pascual (2022), Ji-Yeon Kim (2022) and Lucie Pudilova (2023).

Now, she welcomes Nora Cornolle (6-1) to the UFC. She makes her debut having won her last six. She has finished all of her opponents which have all come in the last 16 months. She has TKO’d her last four victims; Asmaa Abash (2022), Priscila de Souza (2023), Sanaa Mandar (2023) and Hassna Gaber (2023).

JOSELYNE EDWARDS VS NORA CORNOLLE PREDICTION

Edwards’ wins in the UFC are not the most impressive names to have on the record, but they are UFC wins and experience Cornolle does not have. She has blitzed through her opponents, but they are not UFC calibre, so it remains to be seen whether Cornolle can carry that momentum into the UFC.

That said, she is a very dangerous striker and aggressive in all ranges. She also has decent jiu-jitsu should the fight hit the floor, but she prefers to get to work on the feet. This will create an exciting scrap as Edwards also prefers to stand and trade.

She will look to maintain the distance keeping Cornolle at the end of her jab and kicks. The French native will not be deterred by this and will be happy to charge right into range to unleash knees and elbows.

Based on Cornolle’s experience, it is hard to know what level she is at. We can see her bulldozing through Edwards, but as she is completely unproven at this level, we are backing Edwards’ experience to come out on top over three rounds.

Prediction: Edwards via Decision
