He welcomes Victor Martinez (13-4) to the big leagues. The Texan is coming on hot riding a seven-fight win streak. He earnt his shot after a unanimous decision over Jacob Rosales (2021) on the Contender Series. He earnt two knockouts prior to that but they were back in 2019 so he has only fought once in over three years.

This will look like a classic striker vs grappler scrap. These stylistic matchups are becoming less common these days with the evolution of the sport but the truth is Leavitt is an average striker, great grappler and Martinez is an average grappler, great striker.
Considering their skillsets and how Leavitt is coming off a high profile and humiliating loss, expect him to waste no time in shooting for his high crotch single leg takedown. Martinez will not offer much resistance so it will be a question of how much damage he can inflict before he gets taken down.
We can easily see Martinez catching Leavitt clean as he closes the distance, but we expect Leavitt to grind out a decision or find a submission.
