JIMMY FLICK VS NATE MANESS LOWDOWN
Jimmy Flick (17-7) picked up a much-needed win back in January. He took a surprise retirement after his epic flying triangle debut win over Cody Durden (2020). He strapped the gloves back up last year and got knocked out twice by Charles Johnson (2023) and Alessandro Costa (2023). It was looking like a terrible decision to come out retirement, but he bounced back and earnt a vintage submission win over Malcolm Gordon at UFC 297.
Nate Maness (15-3) is also coming off a brilliant finish to prevent a three-fight skid. He was handed a couple of very tough matchups in the form of Umar Nurmagomedov (2022) who outpointed him and Tagir Ulanbekov (2022) who caught him in a guillotine choke. However, he retuned in October last year to knock out Mateus Mendona in the first round.
JIMMY FLICK VS NATE MANESS PREDICTION
Flick is a huge underdog which is somewhat surprising considering his threat on the ground. He only needs one opportunity to cinch up a choke but that said, that is his only route to victory.
Maness is a better striker and wrestler. He also has good jiu-jitsu and will boast a four-inch reach and three-inch height advantage. We expect him to leverage his size and wrestling to fend of the takedown attempts and proceed to piece Flick up on the feet and eventually find the damaged chin displaying his superiority.
Prediction: Maness via KO/TKO
