Jimmy ‘The Brick’ Flick’s MMA career has consisted of 16 victories and seven defeats in 23 fights thus far. The 33-year-old has most recently suffered back-to-back losses against Alessandro Costa and Charles Johnson. Malcolm Gordon, fighting out of Toronto so will have the home crowd backing at the Scotiabank Arena, has also lost his last two fights with his record being 14-7 since his MMA career began in 2012. Jimmy Flick has said ‘it’s not going 15 minutes.’ It is an important fight for both as the flyweight division becomes potentially too competitive to accommodate fighters losing three in a row. Despite his BJJ black belt, Gordon is viewed more as a wrestler in MMA and his fighting style appears set up well to defeat Flick with good ground work able to exploit what has been Flick’s weakness in his last two fights. However, Flick is the slight favourite with greater variety in his methods if victory, albeit a win via submission remains unlikely.
