JEKA SARAGIH VS ANSHUL JUBLI LOWDOWN
Jeka Saragih (13-2) becomes the first Indonesian to officially grace the octagon after blitzing his way through the Road to UFC lightweight tournament. He entered it coming off three solid wins for One Pride MMA and got off to a flyer by spinning backfisting Pawan Maan out of the third round. He then followed that up by flatlining Ki Won Bi with a monster straight right hand in the first round.
Anshul Jubli (6-0) becomes the second Indian fighter to fight in the UFC. He earnt his place in the tournament by submitting Mohammad Mahmoudian under the Matrix Fight Night banner. His quarter final fight was cancelled so jumped straight into a semi-final clash with Kyung Pyo Kim who he squeezed past in a split decision.
JEKA SARAGIH VS ANSHUL JUBLI PREDICTION
Saragih is a natural featherweight and Jubli will have a four-inch height advantage but interestingly, they have the same reach. Saragih will look to get a quick read on the distance and unleash his hands.
Expect Jubli to try and keep Saragih at bay with his jab and time his takedown attempts. Saragih is well-rounded and if he can threaten his own takedown to set up his heavy kicks and right hand he will give Jubli some serious problems. However, Jubli has the patience to sway out of the wild bombs and counter with precision.
If the fight goes to the floor, Jubli also has the technique and size to subdue the Indonesian on the mat while trying to set up submissions. This is a very close fight to call and we are backing Jubli to grind out a decision but as long as Saragih is the underdog, he is the smart pick.
