JARED CANNONIER VS CAIO BORRALHO LOWDOWN
Veteran Jaren Cannonier (17-7) comes into this fight off the back of a controversial TKO loss at the hands of Nassourdine Imavov so he will be desperate to bounce back in order to stay relevant in the middleweight division. He is currently ranked number five but the American needs a win to maintain his position and stay in contention for the big fights.
He now faces another incredibly tough opponent in Caio Borralho who is on a tear in the division. He has a 16-1 record with one no contest and he has won his last 13 bouts in a row. After graduating through Dana White’s Contender Series, Borralho has continued to develop and he has maintained his finishing ability as the quality of opponent has improved with every fight.
He comes off a second-round knockout win against Paul Craig and the 31-year-old is as well rounded as they come.

The main event at UFC on ESPN 62 promises to be a cracker and Caio Borralho is understandably the favourite to win at the Apex.
The Brazilian looks exceptional whether he is on his feet or on the ground and that makes him an incredibly difficult opponent for anybody to face. He is also incredibly confident and as he looks to continue to prove himself, that is helping him make strides.
Cannonier has the undoubted edge in experience in both the Octagon but also fighting over five rounds. That experience however may be a little nullified by the nine-year age gap that will surely help Borralho as the fight progresses against the 40-year-old.
Both are dangerous fighters but we have to just give the edge to the Brazilian to continue his rise up the rankings. We do not expect the fight to go the distance and with just ten weeks since Cannonier was stopped in his last fight, we do not love the quick turnaround for him even if the stoppage appeared premature. We favour Borralho to win here.
PREDICTION: Caio Borralho to win by KO/TKO or submission (double chance)
