JAQUELINE AMORIM VS SAM HUGHES LOWDOWN
Jaqueline Amorim (6-0) makes her UFC debut and is coming in hot finishing all six of her pro fights in the first round. She made her debut in 2020 and her last four bouts have been under the LFA banner. She submitted Taisha Gandy (2021) and then knocked out Megan Owen (2021) before racking up two more submissions over Lovethpatra Young (2022) and Ashley Nichols (2022).
Sam Hughes (7-5) welcomes her to the big time and could be fighting to save her career. She started 2022 brilliantly earning a decision over Istela Nunes and TKOing Elise Reed to bounce back from a three-fight skid. However, her record took another hit losing a unanimous decision to Piera Rodriguez.
JAQUELINE AMORIM VS SAM HUGHES PREDICTION
If the Hughes that knocked out Reed turns up, Amorim will be in for the toughest fight of her career so far. She has great cardio and is very well-rounded. She has also been working hard on her jiu-jitsu and wrestling defence however, we do not feel that will be enough.
Amorim is a beast with a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu. She has run through all of her opponents so far and although we feel Hughes will make her work very hard, we feel the a similar outcome will happen with Amorim taking Hughes down and finding a submission.
