JAIRZINHO ROZENSTRUIK VS JAILTON ALMEIDA LOWDOWN
Jairzinho Rozenstruik (13-4) is 7-4 in the UFC now after preventing a three-fight skid back in December last year. He out grappled in a unanimous decision to Curtis Blaydes (2021) and then Alexander Volkov (2022) inflicted his second knockout loss in MMA. However, he responded in the best way possible by reeling off his ninth first-round knockout collecting a ‘Performance of the Night’ bonus in the process.
Jailton Almeida (18-2) is cut from the same cloth when it comes to killer instinct and is yet to require the judges for victory. He comes from a Brazilian jiu-jitsu background with 11 submissions in the bank, but his striking is as dangerous with two knockouts in his four UFC wins. He knocked out Danilo Marques (2022) on debut, submitted Parker Porter (2022) and Anton Turkalj (2022) and is coming off a TKO over Shamil Abdurakhimov (2022).

It is a shame to see Almeida neglect his chances in the light heavyweight division but he is still one of the most exciting heavyweights in the division
He is a high-level Brazilian jiu-jitsu practitioner and is extremely aggressive on the feet to find openings for submissions. He has torn through all of his opponents so far however, he takes on a top contender who is one of the most dangerous strikers in the division.
He cannot simply rush forward to close the distance in front of a kickboxer with knockout power. If he is able to get his hands on the Suriname native, we fully expect him to leverage his wrestling to expose his back and pounce on a choke.
We expect this to happen and masking his takedown attempts with kicks will help him close the distance. We can easily see Almeida get clipped on the way in and is the value bet considering the odds, but you cannot deny the Brazilian’s skill set and physicality.
