FELICE HERRIG VS KAROLINA KOWALKIEWICZ LOWDOWN

Coming off of a defeat to Virna Jandiroba nearly two years ago, Felice Herrig (14-9) will be desperate to get back in the win column this weekend. Currently, Herrig is riding a three-fight losing streak. Her last victory came against Cortney Casey over four years ago, and has struggled for form since.

As for Karolina Kowalkiewicz (12-7), the Polish native is currently enduring the worst spell of her professional career. Karolina is coming off of a defeat to Jessica Penne via submission nearly a year ago. Her last win came in 2018 against this weekend’s opponent, Herrig. A defeat for Karolina this weekend could spell the end of her UFC career.

Heading into this weekend’s strawweight showdown, Herrig will have the advantage in both the height and reach department.

Kowalkiewicz comes from a strong Muay Thai background and will look to use her unique striking ability to her advantage against Herrig. Even though it’s fair to say that her best years are behind her, there is still a clear path to victory for the Polish native.

With that being said, it will be interesting to see if Kowalkiewicz’s head is still in MMA after suffering several setbacks. From the get-go, we suspect that Herrig will look to dictate proceedings with her versatile striking and aim to tee off on Kowalkiewicz.
