ERYK ANDERS VS JAMIE PICKETT LOWDOWN
Eryk Anders (15-8(1)) is desperate for a big performance after going 1-3 in his last four. He got submitted by Andre Muniz (2021) and fell short in a split decision against Jun Yong Park (2022) before notching a vintage knockout over Kyle Daukaus (2022). He is now coming off a unanimous decision loss to Marc-Andre Barriault at UFC 289 and is hoping to make amends at the APEX.
Jamie Pickett (13-10) is almost beyond the point of making amends as he is sliding on a four-fight skid. He got submitted by Daukaus (2022) and Bo Nickal (2023) sandwiching a TKO to Denis Tiuliulin (2022). He is now coming off a unanimous decision loss to Josh Fremd (2023) to go 2-6 in the UFC.
ERYK ANDERS VS JAMIE PICKETT PREDICTION
Another loss will have to be curtains to Pickett’s career, so everything is on the line for him. If that makes him hesitant, Anders will capitalize by uncorking his left bomb and taking him down.
Either way, Anders should be too much for Pickett everywhere. He is a better wrestler, more explosive and a more dangerous striker. Pickett is a decent striker and will boast a five-inch reach advantage, but he has to be more aggressive.
His lack of volume should allow Anders to beat him to the punch and land more damage with his left hand and kicks from his southpaw stance. We are backing Anders who also has the wrestling to close out the show.
Prediction: Anders via Decision
Value Bet: Anders via KO/TKO
