ELISE REED VS JINH YU FREY LOWDOWN
Elise Reed (6-3) arrived to the UFC unbeaten proudly holding the Cage Fury strawweight title on her shoulder but has found life a lot tougher in the big time. She is 2-3 in the UFC with close decision wins over Cory McKenna (2022) and Melissa Martinez (2022) but she is coming off a disappointing submission loss to Loma Lookboonmee back in February.
Jinh Yu Frey (11-8) has also struggled in the UFC. The former Invicta atomweight champion is 2-4 with decision wins over Gloria de Paula (2021) and Ashley Yoder (2021). However she has not won since dropping a split decision to Vanessa Demopoulos (2022) and getting sparked out by Polyana Viana (2022).
ELISE REED VS JINH YU FREY PREDICTION
Both fighters are evenly matched but their routes to victory are very different. Reed is the better striker and will rely on her movement and variety of attacks to pile on the volume.
Frey on the other hand is well-rounded but will need to call upon her grappling to subdue Reed and steal the rounds with control time.
Reed has been very easy to takedown and we back Frey to have success, but at we are leaning towards Reed to sway the judges with her output on the feet.
This is destined to be a close decision, so all the value is on Frey to impress the judges enough with her control time.
