Eduarda Moura (10-0) is exactly what the strawweight division needs right now and that is a savage who has finished all but one of her fights. She submitted Janaina Silva (2023) on the Contender Series to earn a call-up to the UFC. She made her debut against Montserrat Ruiz (2023) at UFC Fight Night 231 and TKO’d her in the second round to extend her perfect record.
Denise Gomes (8-3) is cut from a similar cloth but has gone 2-2 in the UFC since winning her audition on the Contender Series. She got outpointed by Loma Lookboonmee (2022) on debut and responded perfectly by knocking out Bruna Brasil (2023) and Yazmin Jauregui (2023). She then met veteran Angela Hill (2023) and suffered her second decision loss.

Only five of their combined 21 fights have ended via decision which is very rare for strawweights and it is fair to say, they will both hunt a finish.
Moura pursues the finish on the ground whether that be via ground-and-pound or submission. Gomes is also an effective offensive grappler, but she can also strike and that is how we expect her to approach this.
Gomes needs to keep this on the feet and let her hands and feet fly. We can see her clipping Moura however, we expect Moura to expose the weakness in Gomes’ defensive grappling.
If Moura can close the distance without getting caught, she should be able to take Gomes down with ease where she can rain down the ground-and-pound. Gomes is very durable, so a rare decision is the play.
