DANIEL ZELLHUBER VS FRANCISCO PRADO LOWDOWN
Daniel Zellhuber (14-1) is beginning to live up to the hype after losing his UFC debut. Trey Ogden (2022) inflicted the first loss of his career which was a unanimous decision. However, he responded with a hard-fought unanimous decision of his own against Lando Vannata (2023) and returned five months later at UFC Fight Night 227 to submit Christos Giagos (2023) in the second round.
Francisco Prado (12-1) suffered a similar fate on his UFC debut losing a unanimous decision to stamp the first loss on his record. In fairness, it was a very tough debut stepping up on short notice to fight Jamie Mullarkey (2023). Nonetheless, he has also bounced back with a vintage performance, knocking Ottman Azaitar (2023) out in the first round.
DANIEL ZELLHUBER VS FRANCISCO PRADO PREDICTION
Both of these young fighters have bags of potential, and this is an intriguing match-up. They are both quality strikers with decent grappling in the locker. Zellhuber is the more technical and diverse striker whereas Prado packs more power.
Prado will be a threat in the first round, but we can see him fading quickly. Zellhuber will boast an eight-inch reach advantage and will be able to keep the distance with his jab and long kicks.
We can see Prado shooting in for the takedown, but the Mexican has good takedown defence and will have a knee ready to fire down the middle. Zellhuber has also been training at altitude and we expect to to execute a composed game plan with a possible late finish.
Prediction: Zellhuber via Decision
Value Bet: Zellhuber inside the distance
