DAN IGE VS NATE LANDWEHR LOWDOWN

Dan Ige (16-6) came into 2023 off the back of three straight unanimous decision losses – the Chan Sung Jung (2021), Josh Emmett (2021) and Movsar Evloev (2022). He was desperate for a win when he returned in January, and it could not have gone better knocking out Damon Jackson in the second round to earn a ‘Performance of the Night’.

Nate Landwehr (17-4) is full steam ahead after eating Julian Erosa’s (2021) flying knee. He submitted Ludovit Klein (2021), outpointed David Onama (2022) and submitted Austin Lingo (2023) collecting three post-fight bonuses in the process.

DAN IGE VS NATE LANDWEHR PREDICTION

This is great matchmaking with both fighters expected to bring the violence. This will be fiercely competitive with the majority of it playing out on the feet.

Ige is more technical, but Landwehr’s pace and aggression will be a constant problem. If Landwehr can keep the distance, he will have success landing from range. Ige does his best work at short range and will try to close the distance.

So, we can see Landwehr’s knees and kicks down the middle causing a lot of damage. It is surprising to see him as such a heavy underdog, so he is a no-brainer for a bet.

However, If Ige can manage the distance and mix in takedowns, he can shut Landwehr down and we are leaning towards the Hawaiian with his durability and technical advantage.

Prediction: Ige via Decision
