DAN ARGUETA VS RONNIE LAWRENCE LOWDOWN
Although Dan Argueta (9-1) lost his debut via unanimous decision, he gave a good account of himself by giving Damon Jackson a very tough fight on short notice. The vet inflicted the first loss on the record a year ago, but Argueta is already back to winning ways after outpointing Nick Aguirre back in January.
We have not seen Ronnie Lawrence (8-2) this year and he is desperate to get back in the cage and the win column. After knocking out Vince Cachero (2021) and outpointing Leo Martinez (2022) in his first two UFC fights, Saidyokub Kakhramonov decided to snap the five-fight win streak with a unanimous decision.
DAN ARGUETA VS RONNIE LAWRENCE PREDICTION
These fighters match up very similarly as athletic and aggressive grapplers. Lawrence is especially relentless in his pursuit of the takedown, and we expect him to employ a similar game plan while throwing in some leg kicks.
However, his last fight is a worry with Kakhramonov able to take him down 10 times. His defensive wrestling is clearly not on the same level as his offensive wrestling and we expect Argueta to exploit that.
Argueta is a great shout as the underdog, and we are backing his power to ultimately enable him to have more success in the grappling exchanges and sway the judges with control time.
