DA UN JUNG VS DEVIN CLARK LOWDOWN
Da Un Jung (15-3-1) is hoping to bounce back from his first loss in 15 fights. He steamrolled his way through the Asian scene and went on to pick up four quality UFC wins including a ruthless knockout over Kennedy Nzechukwu (2021). Although those wins sandwiched a draw with Sam Alvey (2020) which has aged terribly. He went on to meet Dustin Jacoby (2022) after the Nzechukwu dub and received a taste of his own medicine getting knocked out in the first round.
Devin Clark (13-7) returns also hoping to bounce back from a knockout loss. He welcomed the unbeaten Azamat Murzakanov (2022) to the octagon for his second UFC fight back in August and fell victim to the ninth knockout of the Russian’s career. That made it 1-3 in Clark’s last four after an exceptional TKO win over William Knight (2022), a decision loss to Ion Cutelaba (2021) and submission to Anthony Smith (2020).
DA UN JUNG VS DEVIN CLARK PREDICTION
This is an interesting stylistic match-up. They are both well-rounded, but Jung’s strengths lie in his striking and Clark’s lie in his wrestling, so this is likely to come down to Jung’s takedown defence which is 88% in the UFC.
Jung should be able to pick Clark apart on the feet. Clark is a low volume striker and usually throws power shots to set up his takedowns and we feel Jung will be able to read them and counter with venom.
We can also see Clark taking Jung down early dictating the narrative of the fight. The trouble is that they are both very inconsistent and this is really a toss-up. We are backing Jung’s takedown defence to hold up and inflicting more damage but considering the odds, Clark holds all of the value.
