CHARLES JOURDAIN VS JEAN SILVA LOWDOWN
Charles Jourdain (15-7-1) has fought at least twice a year since making his UFC debut back in 2019 although he has not built a streak longer than two wins. After preventing a three-fight skid by outpointing Kron Gracie (2023), he went on to pull off one of his most impressive wins to date catching Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt Ricardo Ramos (2023) in a guillotine. He almost made it three on the bounce only to be halted in a split decision by Sean Woodson (2024) at UFC 297 dropping his UFC record down to 6-6-1.
Jean Silva (12-2) has also been active recently after not appearing in 2022. He fought three times last year reeling off two knockouts under the Spartacus MMA banner. He put away Valdemir Cardoso and Shahnin Najafi to earn his opportunity on the Contender Series. He outpointed Kevin Vallejos to set up his UFC debut against Westin Wilson (2024) who he made light work of knocking him out in the first round.
CHARLES JOURDAIN VS JEAN SILVA PREDICTION
This should be a very fun scrap between two exciting strikers. They are both well-rounded but do their best work on the feet. They are fast, explosive and have the confidence to throw an array of flashy strikes.
Expect Silva to keep his hands low to bait Jourdain in. He likes to keep the distance and blitz in with combinations. Jourdain on the other hand will try and keep up a consistent pace to prevent Silva from settling.
Jourdain also has very underrated grappling which could make the difference. We expect Silva to land damage, but if Jourdain mixes in takedown attempts while maintaining the pressure, we can see him overwhelming Silva and keep wrapping up a submission.
That said, Silva is durable and will stand his ground. As the underdog, he represents the value, but we are edging Jourdain.
