BO NICKAL VS CODY BRUNDAGE LOWDOWN
No one else can generate the hype Bo Nickal (5-0) has after two UFC wins over Jamie Pickett (2023) and Valentine Woodburn (2023). He is completely unproven, but he has all the talent and mind set to make it to the top. The decorated wrestler has finished all five of his professional wins (two knockouts and three submissions) and has so much more potential to fill.
Cody Brundage (10-5) has been assigned to the prospect. He had a fair amount of hype behind him himself when he made his debut. However, he has not been able to put his talents together. A three-fight skid losing to Michael Oleksiejczuk (2022), Rodolfo Viera (2023) and Sedriques Dumas (2023) left his UFC career hanging by a thread. He was then awarded a DQ win by Jacob Malkoun (2023) and is coming off one of the most memorable wins of last year, slamming Zachaery Reese on his dome.
BO NICKAL VS CODY BRUNDAGE PREDICTION
On paper, Brundage has a shot, but the UFC are feeding him to Nickal to fuel the prospect’s hype train. Brundage is a high-level wrestler with knockout power. However, Nickal is arguably the best wrestler in the UFC and despite only having five fights under the belt, he already looks like the more accomplished mixed martial artist.
He can ragdoll Brundage and he has the jiu-jitsu to sink in a submission effortlessly. We can also see him hurting Brundage on the feet leading to a submission. The odds are that wide for a reason, but they are so wide they are inviting a small punt on Brundage.
