BILLY GOFF VS YUSAKU KINOSHITA LOWDOWN
Billy Goff (8-2) heads to Singapore to make his UFC debut. He is riding a six-fight win streak including five knockouts, three of which came last year. He erased Gary Balletto Jr and Justin Sumter under the CES MMA banner which led to his opportunity on the Contender Series. He put Shimon Smotritsky away in the first round to earn his call-up.
He is welcomed by Yusaku Kinoshita (6-2) who made his debut back in February this year. He was also coming off a knockout on the Contender Series burying Jose Henrique Souza (2022) in the third round. He made his debut against Adam Fugitt who’s grappling was too much and eventually TKO’d him.
BILLY GOFF VS YUSAKU KINOSHITA PREDICTION
Although Kinoshita got finished in his last fight, he displayed a good ability to get back to his feet after getting taken down and he will need every ounce of that ability here.
Goff is also a solid wrestler who has excellent control in top position. He will be happy to trade on the feet, but it will be a bad idea against Kinoshita. The Japan native hits very hard and his power makes him the favourite.
However, Goff holds all of the value. He has the grappling to control Kinoshita just like Fugitt did. If he gets hit clean, it is lights out, but Goff has the ability to take him down and rain down the ground-and-pound to earn a decision at least.
Prediction: Goff via KO/TKO
