BILL ALGEO VS TJ BROWN LOWDOWN
2022 was a mixed bag for Bill Algeo (16-7). He was coming off a unanimous decision loss to Ricardo Ramos but bounced back with a unanimous decision over Joanderson Brito and a relentless ‘Performance of the Night’ against Herbert Burns forcing him to quit. However, he took on Andre Fili back in September and fell short in a split decision to drop to 3-3 in the UFC.
TJ Brown (17-9) has also shown a lot of potential but struggled to make an impact at 3-3 in the UFC. He started his UFC journey with two losses against Jordan Griffin (2020) and Danny Chavez (2020) but responded with two dubs and decisions over Kai Kamaka (2021) and Charles Rosa (2022). He then fell on the wrong side of a decision against Shayilan Nuerdanbieke (2022) but is now coming off his best performance to date catching Erik Silva (2022) in an arm triangle.
BILL ALGEO VS TJ BROWN PREDICTION
Brown is a good striker with fast hands, but his his route to victory here is mixing in his wrestling by changing his takedowns together and hoping he can get Algeo on his back.
Algeo is the better striker and although he will only boast a slight height and reach advantage, his style will accentuate that. He has a full arsenal of strikes with great cardio so Brown needs to close the distance and tie him up.
We cannot see Brown wrestling and subduing Algeo for three rounds and feel Algeo will be able to convince the judges with his volume and prowess on the feet.
