AUSTIN LINGO VS LUIS SALDANA LOWDOWN

Austin Lingo bounced back nicely from a decision defeat on his Octagon debut at UFC 247 by getting the nod on the judges’ scorecards himself against Jacob Kilburn back in January. That win took his pro record to 8-1 and a win under his belt will no doubt give him confidence ahead of this bout and settle his nerves to a degree.

Luis Saldana has the greater experience with the 30-year-old possessing a 15-6 record and after graduating from Dana White’s Contender Series, he won his debut fight in the Octagon against Jordan Griffin. He is currently riding a five-fight win streak and while his last win came via the judges, his previous four wins were all stoppages. Saldana will be looking to kick on in the bantamweight division with a sixth win a row here.

AUSTIN LINGO VS LUIS SALDANA PREDICTION

There were signs of both fighters being a little more cautious and conservative than usual in their opening fights in the UFC but Luis Saldana especially may have the confidence to be a more adventurous here. Saldana has won his last five fights and with confidence high, he will be looking to build on his nine career KO/TKOs.

He is coming up against a tough and durable opponent in Austin Lingo whose only ever defeat came via decision on his UFC debut. Lingo will be wary of the punching power that Saldana possesses and that may encourage him to stay out of range and be a little more tactical in his approach. Ultimately though, Saldana has the more routes to victory here and if the stoppage does not come, he has to be favoured on the scorecards.
